"I AM ROSES" MAY Color Challenge ~Honoring My Grandama

It's hard to believe it's May already, which means it's time for another I AM ROSES CHALLENGE! Be sure to check out the I AM ROSES blog for all the details on how you can enter to win some fabulous flowers!

For this color challenge we were to use purple and/or teal/turquoise. Boy was I in for a challenge!!!! I don't use purple or really even scrapbook with purple, so I challenged myself to use more purple than teal/turquoise.

I had this picture of my grandma that was passed down to me from my mom which actually is a photo copy of the original. I've been wanting to scrapbook a memory of my grandma Rose for quite sometime now and found that now would be the perfect time to honor her memory! Not only was this a challenge for me to use purple but I found it to be a challenge emotionally!

This coming September my grandma will be gone 11 years. Wow, I can't believe she's been gone that long already! My grandma Rose was such a huge influence in my life growing up! I give her the credit for introducing me to art! She was an amazing ceramic artist/teacher, and was so clever when it came to creating outside the box. Everyone looked up to her as she was an inspiration to all! The layout I created is in honor of my grandma Rose to remember what an amazing and talented woman she was!

Be sure to check out IAMROSES.COM were you can find all the beautiful flowers I used on this layout. I'll have all the item numbers listed below.

Don't forget to stop on over at the I AM ROSES BLOG and join this months CHALLENGE!
