Halloween Birthday Mini

Happy Halloween! Just kidding!
I know it's not October yet, but it's just around the corner!

For my August dt project for I Am Roses I created a fun, Halloween Birthday mini album.
Last year my daughter waited to have her birthday party in October so she could have a costume party.
Her actual birthday is in August. We celebrated as a family but waited till October to have her party. This was a really big deal!

(no it does not say Trich it's a fancy K if you click on the picture, you'll see it's a K for Trick)

Once October rolled around we had a ton of fun planning her party.  "Witches Fingers" and "Mummy Wraps" were among some of the food the party guests enjoyed. Wii, Just Dance 3, toilet paper mummy wrapping of friends and Halloween crafts were big hits at the party.

I wanted to created a special mini showcasing all the wonderful memories our daughter had.
Turning "10" is a big deal, double digits!!!

I used a combination of various Halloween collections, trims, laces, washi tape, embellishments, and of course tons of I Am Roses products!

I love this mini and hope you do too! Be sure to check out all the photos below for a better look.

Don't forget to check out I Am Roses where you can find all the fabulous flowers I used as well as many others for all your crafting projects.

August's IAR Challenge ~ Altered Hanging Whiteboard Sign

WoW! I can't believe August is already here and my kids are heading to school in a few days! I'm sad to see summer fade away, but I'm also looking forward to getting back into our "normal"routine.

I'm also heading back to school, to teach preschool again this year!  Long story short for those whom haven't heard...I thought I'd be staying home this year due to a mishap at work with my schedule. Well the short of the story is, I'm heading back to teach again with the hours that I wanted!
With that being said, I wanted to create a fun altered hanging whiteboard sign I could hang in my classroom or on the door.

This months IAR challenge is a color challenge using "yellow" along with the back to school theme.
I had so much fun creating this altered whiteboard sign! Be sure to stop on by the IAR blog for more information on how you can enter August's IAR Challenge.

Altered Paper Bag Backpack

Hello there my Scrappy Friends!
I've got a super cute back-to-school project to share with you today I created for SNSC.

It's hard to believe summer is coming to an end and school for my kiddos is starting next week!  WoW! Time sure flies when you're having FuN! I'll also be heading back to the classroom myself! Yup, you read that right. I'm a preschool teacher.

Check out "Back to School Sophie"! I just love how hip and cute she is for school!

I decided to alter a brown lunch bag using "Back to School Sophie" and create a fun altered Backpack.

I layered various pattern papers onto the paper bag from the collection "School Daze" by My Mind's Eye. I also cut a few images from the same collection and added them onto the bag as embellishments. I created a backpack flap out of  blue coordination's card stock and attached red ribbon to the back of the bag as backpack straps. To create a closure for the backpack I added a small piece of velcro under the front flap of the bag.

Now for the fun part! Embellishing the backpack!

I colored "Back to School Sophie" using my Spectrum Noir markers and my Atyou Spica glitter pens. I then added her onto the backpack and popped her up with some pot dots. For my final touches I added some color crayons wrapped with some black twine, a red felt star, some I Am Roses, a sm piece of dollie and red ric-rac trim to give it that back-to-school look.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Altered Paper bag Backpack!

Don't forget to check out the SNSC shop, where you can find "Back to School Sophie" along with many more cute images!

Have a Happy Scrappy Day!
